High School Equivalency(HSE)

The Weatherford ISD Adult Education Cooperative is a program within the WISD Community Education Department, funded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The program offers FREE English language, math, reading, and writing instruction for adults in Parker, Palo Pinto, and Wise counties to help them acquire the skills needed to succeed in the workforce.

Eligibility for High School Equivalency Prep & ESL Classes

  • Not be enrolled in school, nor a high school graduate, and function below the secondary level
  • 19 years of age or above OR
  • 17 to 18 years of age with a withdrawal from the last school attended & a letter of parental/guardian permission OR
  • 16 years of age with a court order (a copy of the court order must be provided)
  • Not be a visitor to the U.S. with a F-1 or J-1 categorized visa or passport (tourist, educational or exchange visitor)

Classes are FREE to eligible individuals. No children are allowed in class. To ensure student success and to make the best use of resources, all students are expected to adhere to our rigorous attendance policies. Excessive absences may result in dismissal from the program.
